The moment on vacation
Summer 2025. Turkey. I was on vacation thinking about the same problem I had been carrying with me for a while: I wanted to share my passion for Bitcoin with my family and friends — and it just did not work.
Podcasts, meetups, community events: there it was easy. People already down the rabbit hole wanted to talk, listen, learn. But at home? Too technical. Too much economics. Too little pain to bother engaging with it.
Then the idea: a board game. Something my friends come to — not because I explain what Bitcoin is, but because they feel like a game night. And along the way, almost incidentally, they understand what Bitcoin brings with it.
From idea to game
Back in Germany, I started right away. The idea, the mechanics, what the game should achieve — all of that was clear from the start. The task was to make the idea playable.
I first developed MONEYFORK for myself. For my family. For my friends. Now I can invite them to a game night — and they gladly come.
The path to Bitcoin
I come from IT. For eight years I advised companies across various industries — banks, government organizations, corporations. I saw from the inside how inefficient systems can be, how much money is wasted, how bureaucracy slows processes down.
Bitcoin first hit me in 2013. The time was not yet ripe. In 2022 — almost nine years later — I came back. This time properly: podcasts, books, conferences, communities. I did not just find a way to secure my and my family's future. I found a passion. And a mission.
